Emma My Caregiver

Little 3-year old Emma is so sweet. Kids cannot contain thier excitement. If they are happy to see you, they tell you in a big way. Everytime she sees me, she screams "Daddy Daddy you are home!" Yesterday, I was in the car and we were dropping her off at school and she looked back at me and asked "Daddy are you going to be OK in there?" I said yes. The day before that, she was making an effort to cover her mouth everytime she coughed. She said that she did not want to make me sick, because she did not want me to have to go back to the hospital. I do not hide much from Emma, so last night I came upstairs to take my medicine. (I have to take two antibiotics (Zosyn and Vanco) intravenously trough my catherer). Emma went and got a pair of gloves and put them on. She said "Daddy I want to help so you can get better." (I have to flush my line with saline - a sterile solution of sodium chloride used to dilute medications or for intravenous therapy). So after I cleaned off the caps and attached it to my line, she pushed in the saline. I had to do it once more and she did it again. She was so happy that she was able to help me (getting emotional)... and I thought it was so sweet. I love her with all my heart (getting emotional again) and I will fight everyday, hour and minute to survive so I can be there for her...I have to go...
