Transplant Update

I recieved some wonderful news today. After all this time, I actually have a schedule for my transplant. I meet with a social worker on Friday in between tests that begin at 8:40 in the morning and do not end until 4:00.

The tentative date is October 8th. They will start transplantation on October 16th. I guess I can kiss the notion good bye that I will spend my (35th) birthday away from the hospital but that is of secondary concern. My doctor, however, says he can get me out of the hospital in less than 30 days but we will see. If not, I may also miss Ayanna's birthday on the November 1st. I always like to try to do something nice for her.

I need to figure how I can get food, because I can no longer tolerate what the hospital brings to our rooms under those black domes. However, I am so grateful that finally, there is some real progress.

Prayer is essential. Hopefully, I have minimum amount of Graft vs. Host disease, my recovery is quick and the transplant extends my life many many many (30-50) years. I also pray that nothing gets in the way of moving forward. Hopefully, there is not an increase in disease, and I pass all of the preliminary tests with flying colors. It is always God's will through Jesus Christ to heal us and I trust and have faith that everything will work out for the best.
